Fabian Schar
West Ham have reportedly agreed a £5million fee to sign brilliant Switzerland defender Fabian Schar.

The FC Basel defender is one of the finest centre backs around and has been strongly linked with Arsenal and Chelsea in recent months.

He has always maintained his desire to play in the Premier League, and that now looks set to happen, with reports saying West Ham have provisionally agreed a £5million fee.

The Hammers are ‘far down the line’ with the transfer and look set to get the 23-year-old signed up.

Re: Fabian Schar
Schar has signed for Hoffenheim.
It could have been a very good player for us, young, strong and already with a great international experience both with club and national team.

Its not the long balls its the high balls that he would not govern as Ginge does

Re: Fabian Schar
Which long ball teams with beanpole strikers do you think would be a threat to him and endanger our GOAL TENDER?

Re: Fabian Schar
I would prefer a center back who lords of aerially in the center of the defence.
This fellow needs to play alongside someone like Ginge
He is not a decent replacement

Ron,

Both Collins & Carroll miss large amounts of games each season so he could be our stand in for both positions over the course of the season!

It's about time we had a goal scoring centre back may improve our set plays if he comes

Swindon - would be a more prolific alternative to AC as 4th choice CF next season!

Scored again for the Swiss last night. 5 goals in 10 appearances for a centre back!

Don't know how good he is defensively though but could be worth a shout.

you mean offering an opinion, after actually seeing him play, that I didnt think he looked like premier league quality at the moment? and that I hoped he would come good? And if you consider the facts, he actually hasnt been that great?

yeah, exactly the same as writing off this young defender.

Re: Fabian Schar
Has he signed ?

He has a lot of the credentials that are required in premier football
However I don't see him meeting the lacks that we currently have.
Morgan Fox the welsh international defender that we have been keeping tabs on meets our requirements a lot better

Similar to Craig Dawsons goal tally at his age

He has a better goalscoring record than Carlton Cole.

I would have gone for a mam capable of filling COLLINS role to the side.

Re: Fabian Schar
A 23 year old International defender, wanted by Arsenal and Chelsea, who's not as quick as Gabbidon, not very tall and doesn't have 'presence'?

Hmmmm. Itchy BEARD
